My first Socks

Yarn: Naked Socks in Castle Light #108 Dye lot 7552 1 skein 470 yards

Needles: US size 0 Double points

Started:  2/28/16

These will be my very first socks!  I did knit up a pair of house socks before, but they were large slipper type socks. These will be my first socks to wear with shoes. I am very excited to knit them up! I am doing the all well known Vanilla Latte Sock pattern. Such an easy pattern, I shouldn’t have much trouble.

I have started working the pattern now. It is so wonderfully simple. And the Naked Socks yarn is so stretchy! It is has the best bounce and stretch to it, I hardly have to worry about keeping the cast on loose.

These socks ended up taking forever to knit. It was mostly because the yarn was actually quite hard to work with. Difficult to see the stitches and so I ended up making gussets that were two different sizes.

I also added some ribbing at the arch of the foot to have a better fit on my foot.

So…while I probably won’t knit with this yarn again. I didn’t mind making the socks. I may work on another pair soon.
