This yarn is hand-dyed by Boss Kitty, the business owned and created by my friend Simi!
These skeins are part of her line of yarns that are colored like areas and structures of Portland! Being a PDX native she has a special love for the city and all that it has to offer.
She gave me these lovely skeins for my birthday. The green is called Forest Park and is Alpaca and Silk. So squishy!! Forest Park is a lush park in Northwest Portland. It is known as the largest urban forest in America. There are hiking trails and the scenery is just gorgeous. Part of the trail overlooks the St. John’s Bridge, which is easily the most beautiful bridge in all of Portland.

The orange is called Broadway and is also Alpaca and Silk. This colorway is modeled after one of Portland’s many bridges. The Broadway Bridge. Not the most artistic, but one of the most functional of the bridges. It’s color is bright, and it is actually quite a large bridge.

I am not sure what I will be making with my new skeins. But I am sure that they will be quite beautiful, and maybe I will even find a PDX inspired pattern to use them on.
